Sustrans has launched the 'Motion for Women' petition, which calls upon governments to create a safer environment for cycling. The petition articulates the results of an omnibus survey of women which showed that over two thirds felt that cycle lanes separate from traffic would encourage them to cycle more.

The conference will explore the challenges surrounding the delivery of physical activity programmes and identify how different sectors and organisations can join their agendas to work effectively in partnership.

Following the release of the 2008 Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans, a collaboration between governments in the UK and the BHFNC has commenced to undertake a review of the current Physical Activity Guidelines in the UK.

UTravelActive loan bike scheme expands 

Velocampus Leeds, the bike loan scheme which runs at the University of Leeds and Leeds Metropolitan University as part of Sustrans' UTravelActive project, has almost doubled its fleet of bikes to 350 this academic year.

The WaveOn 5th December, days ahead of the UN's climate summit in Copenhagen, thousands of people from across the UK will flow through the streets of London as part of The Wave.

The Wave will be the UK's biggest ever demonstration in support of action on climate change and will demand that the UK government stops using dirty coal, protects the world's poorest and acts fairly and quickly. The Wave is being organised by Stop Climate
Chaos, a coalition including Sustrans and more than 100 organisations and their 11 million supporters, who are working together for positive action against climate change.
