Concessionary fare changes
GMPTE advises concessionary permit holders that from Sunday 5 April the concessionary bus fare will be 80p. This affects:
- children under 16 and young people aged 16-19 who have a scholar’s permit;
- people with an over 60s permit who pay to travel before 9.30am; and
- disabled people with a permit who pay to travel before 9.30am.
Fares on trains and trams will stay at approximately half the full adult fare for children under 16 and young people aged 16-19 with a scholar’s permit.
People aged over 60 and disabled people can still travel free on buses, trains and trams after 9.30am in Greater Manchester. Before 9.30am they must pay half the adult fare on trains and trams.
